Targeting lung cancer
Screening
Explore our portfolio of ultra-low-dose CT scanners and AI tools that support you in your diagnostic assessments of lung cancer nodules during screening.
Detecting early-stage lung cancer with low-dose CT scanning can dramatically improve the long-term survival rate of lung cancer patients. A study4 shows that patients diagnosed with lung cancer by low-dose CT screening have a 20-year survival rate of 81%. If diagnosed in the earliest Stage I and if adequate therapy has been applied, long-term survival was 95%. This emphasizes the benefit to establish screening programs for earlier detection. Our ultra-low-dose CT scanners and AI tools help you deliver confident and accurate screening outcomes.
Our CT scanners come with advanced technology inside that allows ultra-low-dose, non-contrast chest CT scans for a screening examination.
A smart augmented reading aid and AI-powered workflow solution help reduce repetitive tasks and supports diagnostic precision by detecting and highlighting possible nodules.

With the implementation of lung cancer screening protocols for at-risk patients, lung cancer can be detected at an early stage which could dramatically improve chances for survival.10 As a result, there will be an increasing focus on image-guided minimally invasive treatment options with curative intent.
Our syngo.via RT Image Suite helps make simulation, image assessment, and contouring easier and better integrated.
Whether for image-guided endobronchial interventions, thoracic surgery, or percutaneous lung cancer interventions: Our comprehensive portfolio of imaging solutions for image-guided minimally invasive interventions empowers you to enhance precision and minimize time at risk.
Increase precision for radiotherapy planning with smart imaging solutions that offer:
*Direct i4D and DirectORGANS are optional
Many tumors, especially those in the thoracic region, can move during a patient’s respiratory cycle. The TrueBeam radiotherapy system, when equipped with optional respiratory gating capabilities, synchronizes the delivery of radiation with the patient’s breathing, ensuring that the tumor only receives radiation when in the optimal position. The TrueBeam equipped with this optional capacity to monitor the patient’s respiration can halt the beam if the respiratory behavior exceeds pre-defined tolerances, which aims to reduce the dose to normal tissues surrounding the tumor.
Our angiography systems offer syngo DynaCT, a cone-beam CT solution that provides hard- and soft-tissue information during interventions. It can be performed directly in the angio suite without loss of time or additional risk to the patient.
myNeedle Companion is the first Siemens Healthineers solution that harmonizes planning and guidance for percutaneous needle procedures across modalities.
*Optional
With syngo Toolbox, you can overlay points of interest, polylines, and target regions from 3D volumes onto 2D live images ‒ exactly matching the findings in the cross-sectional images of a syngo DynaCT acquisition.

Therapy monitoring and follow-up in lung cancer are key to personalizing patient care. Monitoring tumor response allows for timely adjustment of the chosen therapy. Three challenges have to be met: timely communication, medical data management, and thorough patient engagement.
Through functional examinations such as tissue perfusion or iodine quantification, our SOMATOM CT scanners enable early assessment of lung tumor response or disease progression.
Tumor marker tests are available on the Atellica® IM Analyzer and ADVIA Centaur® Immunoassay Systems to assess and monitor squamous cell carcinoma in the head, neck, lung and cervix.
Secure13 live video consultation that transforms care delivery by enabling timely and precise clinical decision making. Healthcare providers and patients can interact virtually just in minutes14.
The mobile app enables patients to actively participate during their therapy and follow up. Treatment insights, personalized education, and real-time recording of ePROs foster a collaborative approach to individualizing and optimizing post-treatment care.
