Siemens Healthineers is proud to announce the Canadian launch of the MAGNETOM Viato.Mobile, the latest mobile magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner, following its recent Health Canada licensing. This innovative mobile solution, with the latest BioMatrix technology and AI power, brings high-quality MR imaging directly to patients’ doorsteps, marking a significant leap in mobile diagnostic capabilities.

“With MAGENTOM Viato.Mobile, our aim is to provide access to advanced 1.5 Tesla MRI technology in Canada. Housed within a trailer setup, this scanner offers unparalleled flexibility for deploying MR imaging, allowing seamless transitions between locations or extended on-site usage for our customers, ultimately enhancing access to care,” Sebastien Deval, Magnetic Resonance Imaging Business Line Manager at Siemens Healthineers, Canada says “Our latest MRI scanner offers unparalleled technical specifications, including a 70-centimeter patient bore and advanced connectivity for remote scanning. This functionality ensures the higher quality of care, reduces geographical limitation, and ensures that a specialist is always available to provide the best image quality.”

Housed in a mobile trailer setup, the MAGNETOM Viato.Mobile is compatible and ideal for both short-term and longer-term deployment.  With the wide geographical spread of Canada, this solution can provide coverage for underserved regions as well – reversing the traditional dynamic by bringing the scanner directly to the patients.

Operation and service of MAGNETOM Viato.Mobile can be done remotely via a fixed internet or, if needed, via a 5G connection. This means that the system can be used almost anywhere, while experts – when required – can provide support from another location during two crucial steps: performing the scan and maintaining the system. This means that fewer staff are needed on site, specialists can work from home and service technicians can take exactly the right spare part with them when they deploy for maintenance.

“I believe as part of Siemens Healthineers, we continue to break ground in healthcare technology. This introduction of MAGNETOM Viato.Mobile reaffirms our commitment expanding access to advanced medical imaging and patient care in Canada,” Deval added.
