Siemens Healthineers showcased the latest products and technologies in radiology at 74th National Conference, IRIA 2022, Bengaluru, India. Reiterating the need to be at the center of clinical decision-making across the full healthcare spectrum, Siemens Healthineers introduced its unique solutions in MRI and CT portfolio- MAGNETOM Free.Star and NAEOTOM Alpha®.

MAGNETOM Free.Star belongs to the new generation of scanners from Siemens Healthineers based on our revolutionary High-V MRI Platform. It is built on our latest DryCool technology, it is a virtually helium-free scanner with an ultra-compact footprint that is far easier to install. myExam Companion breaks down the barriers of complex MRI technologies and leverages the new possibilities of digitalization and AI to deliver high-quality results easily in routine MRI scans. The total cost of ownership over the entire life cycle of the system is up to 30 percent lower than with conventional scanners1. MAGNETOM Free.Star is a designed-for-purpose scanner that can be deployed to truly improve the lives of people by helping to diagnose and treat the most prevalent diseases.

Dr. Umesh Krishnamurthy, Professor, and Head, Department of Radiology, M S Ramaiah Hospital, Bengaluru, and Organising Chairman of IRIA 2022 unveiled the product during IRIA 2022. Dr Pushparaj Bhatele, President of IRIA was also present at the launch to grace the occasion.

NAEOTOM Alpha® is the world’s first photon-counting CT. Based on the revolutionary direct signal conversion of its QuantaMax detector, NAEOTOM Alpha offers high-resolution images at minimal dose, spectral information in every scan, and improved contrast at lower noise. Photon-counting CT will advance medical diagnostics towards precise, non-invasive diagnosis in cardiology, pulmonology, oncology, and emergency medicine.

These solutions, powered by artificial intelligence are beneficial for countries like India where exists a need to fill the gap between demand for advanced devices and the availability of trained professionals managing the operations.
