Taguig City, Philippines — St. Luke’s Medical Center unveiled its 1,152-slice* Computed Tomography (CT) Scanner from Siemens Healthineers. The SOMATOM Force Dual-Source Dual-Energy CT offers precise and sharp images of the body and is designed to provide its patients better and greater options which were deemed challenging and impossible in the past.

“We only want what’s best for our patients. As an innovator and a frontrunner in bringing medical trends to the country, we are enthusiastic to extend the technological benefits of SOMATOM Force in St. Luke’s Global City,” said Dr. Arturo S. De La Peña, President and CEO of St. Luke’s Medical Center during the unveiling ceremony. “We now have not one but two 1,152-slice CT Scan systems, which still remains to be available only in our hospitals to date.”

The new SOMATOM Force is packed with optimum imaging technologies including the breakthrough Dual-Source Dual-Energy solutions which allow the system to capture larger and clearer field of views of the body such as bones, blood vessel, soft tissues, and the like. Combined with the quantified 1,152-slice vast system built, it can help physicians achieve impressive results even if faced with extremely challenging situations. It is built with pioneering technologies benefiting both patients and physicians.

“We are moving to an era where AI-powered medical systems are becoming more and more relevant. SOMATOM Force offers unique technologies which can address the clinical challenges being faced with a conventional CT. Imagine scanning without worrying about holding your breath and lying still – these are now challenges of past and St. Luke’s was instrumental in making this game changing CT Scan accessible to patients,” explained Mike Tan, President of Siemens Healthineers Philippines.

SOMATOM Force offers high-speed scanning at a much lower dose, making it a safer and more comfortable option for patients. Routine exams for the chest and abdomen can go as fast as 0.5 seconds through its exceptional Turbo Flash Mode. It also reduces the use of contrast media for kidney-friendly exams ideal for patients of age. Moreover, the system’s design accommodates the smallest to the tallest with personalized scanning adaptable to every patient profile.

St. Luke’s Medical Center is at the forefront of delivering exceptional patient experience while expanding precision medicine. With the new SOMATOM Force in their hospitals, it further strengthens their bid to becoming at par with advanced medical facilities providing outstanding patientcare world over.
