PRINC and Siemens Healthineers sign MoU to develop a leading state-of-the-art Cancer Care Center in Southeast Asia• Siemens Healthineers and PRINC aim to form a strategic partnership to develop a Cancer Center of Excellence in Thailand.
• The partnership signifies a commitment towards redefining the future of cancer care, by setting new standards for quality, affordability, and accessibility.
Principal Capital Public Limited and Siemens Healthineers have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set the foundation for a collaborative partnership to develop a leading Cancer Center of Excellence in Thailand.
Krittavith Lertutsahakul, (M.D.), Managing Director and Vice Chairman of the Board of Director, Principal Capital Public Company Limited, stated that According to the Global Cancer Observatory (GCO), cancer is still one of the leading causes of death in Thailand with 92,000 deaths recorded and over 150,000 new cases in 2020. Early detection and timely treatment are crucial factors in effectively managing cancer. PRINC will collaborate with Siemens Healthineers to establish a Cancer Centre of Excellence in Thailand, to study the plans to expand the Cancer Center of Excellence, elevate the standards of comprehensive cancer care with high quality, expand access to cancer diagnosis, and provide convenience to patients with comprehensive treatment at an affordable price.
“This collaboration will lead to the expansion of cancer treatment centres, Aside from Pitsanuvej Hospital, there are plans to expand to Princ Hospital Sisaket, which is under construction and expected to be completed and operational by the end of 2024. The expansion will be further extended to other hospitals within the network and currently we are studying the expansion of specialized medical centers for cancer treatment to neighboring countries. Furthermore, PRINC aims to broaden its healthcare service coverage nationwide, particularly in secondary cities. Currently, there are a total of 15 hospitals in the network, with 14 operating in 11 provinces. In the future, there is an investment goal for specialized medical centers to address complex diseases, meeting the healthcare needs of the population in each area, targeting around 20 centers within the years 2024-2026,” Dr. Krittavith concluded
