Elaj Group was established in 1994 primarily focusing on Chronic Care Delivery Model, then evolved into an integrated healthcare delivery system in the MENA region with an initial focus on Saudi Arabia and Egypt markets. Within its diversified business structures, and in addition to its tertiary care hospitals, Elaj Group founded Al Borg Medical Laboratories in 1998 in Jeddah; the heart of the Western Province to provide a wide range of clinical and diagnostic tests for its clients. Recently and following the expansion plan in neighbouring countries, Al Borg Medical Laboratories has become one of the largest chains of private laboratories in the GCC and is expanding in Africa. Part of this rigorous plan is to also expand the scope of its offering from clinical and diagnostic tests to diagnostic imaging services in order to provide a holistic and complete portfolio of diagnosis to patients while addressing a new market focused on check-ups and wellness.
For this, and on the 17th of September 2020, Siemens Healthineers and Elaj Group entered a long-term Value Partnership agreement to establish imaging centres next to the current laboratories of Saudi Arabia utilizing the most recent innovations of Siemens Healthineers in the field of diagnostic imaging. The agreement includes an innovative business model and during which, Siemens Healthineers will be the exclusive technology partner to Al Borg labs equipping it with radiology systems as well as providing a full range of services.
Elaj Group has already a wealth of expertise in running medical facilities which in collaboration with Siemens Healthineers global leadership in the MedTech industry will bring a whole new experience to patients in the journey of diagnosis.
