Course Description
This course is designed to establish new MR Cardiac imaging services into the department. It introduces users to MR Cardiac imaging protocol options and provides a fundamental understanding of MR cardiac imaging, including troubleshooting and optimization to improve image quality. The course offers information on ECG, cine, black blood, perfusion and delayed enhancement. Each area covered will include theoretical principles and hands-on practice.
*Scanning of volunteers (without contrast) or patients will need to be arranged by the imaging department.
*There is an option to learn on SmartSimulators first.

Patient preparation, positioning, and safety
ECG set up and troubleshooting
Functional cine imaging - retro, AR, prospective, real-time, two shot
Black blood/anatomical imaging
Perfusion
Early and late gadolinium imaging
Cardiac anatomy and MRI planes in clinical practice
Understanding cardiac sequences and parameters
Techniques for more challenging patients
