Siemens Healthineers welcomed the global molecular imaging community at their booth and symposium during the European Association of Nuclear Medicine's 37th annual conference.
The European Association of Nuclear Medicine’s (EANM) 37th Annual Meeting took place October 19–23, 2024, in Hamburg, Germany. In her welcome address, EANM’s Congress Chair Valentina Garibotto emphasized that this year’s congress would focus on facilitating interactions and exchanges across competencies, disciplines, and generations. With sessions featuring prominent experts in nuclear medicine, discussing the latest research and techniques that propel the field forward and elevate options for patient care, this year’s congress attracted a record attendance with more than 8,680 global participants. Siemens Healthineers is proud to have been among the more than 180 exhibitors that filled the halls.
The congress highlighted groundbreaking research and innovation, dynamic and interactive presentations, and impactful networking opportunities. To inspire the youngest professionals in the nuclear medicine field, special sessions were offered daily, along with a Young Professionals Lounge with tailored presentations and ample opportunities to network.
Theranostics, Alzheimer’s disease, and cardiology were prominent topics featured in this year’s sessions and presentations. The Technologist Track covered whole-body multimodality imaging principles, PET/CT in oncologic diseases’ staging applications, radio-guided surgery, brain PET, artificial intelligence, and patient advocacy.
Precision oncology tools
Excitement was visible at the Siemens Healthineers booth around the newly launched Biograph Trinion™ PET/CT, as well as the total-body Biograph Vision Quadra™ PET/CT, Symbia Pro.specta™ SPECT/CT theranostics edition, and ARIA CORE with Aria Systemic Therapy from Varian Solutions, a Siemens Healthineers company. Visitors were able to explore how an integrated value chain enables theranostics programs with precision oncology tools during every step of the care pathway. PETNET Solutions, Inc., another Siemens Healthineers company, was also present to show their latest radiopharmaceutical products and services.
Advancing solutions in molecular imaging
On Sunday, October 20, Siemens Healthineers was proud to host a standing-room-only crowd for a luncheon symposium. Almost 370 attendees listened to the discussion on “Addressing the future: Advanced solutions in molecular imaging.” Speakers included Dr. Friederike Eilsberger, a specialist in nuclear medicine at the University Clinic of Marburg in Germany, Daniel McCool, a hospital physicist and head of nuclear medicine at Royal Free Hospital in the UK, and Sebastian Fuerst, a PET product manager at Siemens Healthineers.
EANM Congress awards
An annual EANM tradition is the bestowing of awards to members of the nuclear medicine community. Julia Fricke was the recipient of the Marie Curie Award. Other awards presented throughout the congress were the Sanjiv Sam Gambhir Award, the Young Authors’ Award, and the Technologists’ Award.
EANM’s 38th Annual Congress will be held from October 4–8, 2025, at the International Barcelona Convention Center in Barcelona, Spain.
