Clinically Relevant Targets, Better ResultsSyndromic Testing for Infectious Diseases
Syndromic testing allows clinicians to rapidly test for a broad number of pathogens in patients that present with overlapping signs and symptoms. Siemens Healthineers offers real-time PCR multiplex assays for infectious disease testing with pathogens grouped according to clinical relevance to syndromes such as respiratory infections, gastroenteritis, childhood infections, and meningitis.
These real-time PCR multiplex kits, grouped according to clinical syndromes, serve an important clinical need. With this approach physicians can order a single test from the lab covering multiple probable pathogenic causes—virus, bacteria or parasite. Syndromic testing can save time, resources, reagents, and be more cost-effective while providing a fast and accurate clinical diagnosis for the physician who must make treatment decisions for the patient.
