Full navigation in the three-dimensional space of the patient together with real-time fluoroscopic image guidance allows for fast and accurate instrument positioning in the most complex anatomies, even at difficult oblique angles or in moving organs.

The SOMATOM go. platform features Guide&GO, the first tablet-based4 solution for CT-guided interventional procedures. Built on the mobile workflow, it is both familiar and easy to use. You can control the entire intervention with the tablet and remote control. Needle guidance is supported by the highly intuitive image manipulation functions we know from our smartphones, like zoom or pan. A dedicated toolkit for performing accurate measurements and planning a secure needle path is easily accessible via the tablet and supported by a convenient “smartphone-like” zoom-glass functionality.

Fast toggling between predefined image window settings or between the i-sequence and the spiral planning scan makes it easy to cross-check the anatomy to safely plan the needle path. Laser crosshairs offer additional accuracy and confidence.

Artifacts due to metal implants or to the tool used in the interventional procedure (e.g., RF ablation) often hamper image quality. Special reconstruction algorithms such as iMAR can be applied during CT-guided interventional procedures to reduce artifacts and to improve confidence even in areas adjacent to metal implants.
