With the objective of providing healthcare professionals with the latest trends in precision medicine through a focused interactive approach, Siemens Healthineers collaborated with its business partner to organize a workshop in Ha Giang Province, Vietnam.
Nestled within the highlands of northern Vietnam, Ha Giang emerges as a majestic mountainous expanse with rugged terrains and several pockets of underdevelopment. Its remote location presents significant challenges for transportation, particularly in accessing emergency medical care for both residents and visiting tourists. Despite witnessing notable progress in infrastructure and resources over recent years, the healthcare system in Ha Giang continues to grapple with limitations, particularly in its capacity to serve the needs of this province.
Conducted promptly after securing approval from Ha Giang Department of Health, the workshop was held on May 17 – 18, 2024 on the topic of Precision Medicine Trend: Application Updates in Diagnostic Imaging. The workshop attracted more than 70 participants nearly 20 healthcare organizations across the province.
Moderated by Dr. Do Thi My, Vice Director, Ha Giang Department of Health, the workshop covered several relevant topics. The key highlights include -
- The roles of CT and X-Ray in the Vietnamese’s healthcare system, presented by Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Quoc Dung, Vice Chairman, The Vietnamese Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine.
- ARFI technology and its application in the assessment of diffuse cirrhosis.
- Global MRI development trend.
Ultrasound Hand-on Session
Another highlight of the workshop was the hands-on Ultrasound session where the participants got the opportunity to gain insights into helpful Ultrasound techniques that could be adapted in their daily routines.
Sharing hand with the development of local healthcare system.

In his introduction to the Access to Care program, Dr. Trinh Hoang Ha, Senior Director, Head of Government Affairs & Access to Care, stated that:
