Dr. Bernd Montag, the global CEO of Siemens Healthineers, had recently conducted a visit to Vietnam from 13 – 14 June 2024 in a move of engaging interaction and enhancing relationship with local organizations. The visit marks the 2nd return of Bernd to Vietnam.

Bernd’s first activity in Vietnam was to attend the signing ceremony to extend our strategic partnership with Stroke International Services (S.I.S) Hospital, Can Tho City, in the Mekong Delta. The signing ceremony was held in conjunction with the Stroke Interventional School at SIS Hospital. The partnership extension between Siemens Healthineers and S.I.S is geared towards bolstering S.I.S expansion goals.

This was followed by a meeting with Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the Can Tho People’s Committee, during which he discussed Siemens Healthineers’ extensive collaboration with healthcare facilities in Can Tho and our commitment to continue supporting the province’s healthcare objectives.

Bernd subsequently engaged in informative exchanges with our Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Prof. Pham Minh Thong, President of the Vietnamese Society of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, and A/Prof Ho Thuong Dung, Deputy Director of Thong Nhat Hospital, to share Siemens Healthineers’ role in driving innovation in healthcare in Vietnam and share ideas on the emerging trends in radiology and cardiology.

Bernd's first day in Vietnam ended with an Executive Power Dinner, during which customers and investors had the chance to network with Bernd and discuss the challenges and opportunities in the Vietnamese healthcare sector.

The following day, Bernd attended the MoU signing ceremony between Siemens Healthineers and University Medical Center (UMC) HCMC, which aims to facilitate collaboration between the two parties on strategic topics over the next twelve months. This was followed by a meeting with the Hoa Lam Group, with whom Siemens Healthineers recently signed an MoU to expand its oncology and nuclear medicine capabilities at Gia An 115 Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.

During his visit, Dr. Bernd Montag also spend times to meet with employees in townhalls meeting. Together with the respective local management teams, he discussed the key strategic priorities for Siemens Healthineers, the role of Zone ASEAN in leveraging our growth vectors to seize the most promising opportunities in healthcare, and the development of Asian talent for leadership roles in the organization.

Bernd’s trip to Vietnam was highlighted by the impactful conversations with key customers and government officials. These interactions have reinforced our commitment to enabling healthcare providers to offer healthcare access to millions of patients, improve clinical outcomes, and enhance operational efficiencies in their healthcare systems. And this is how we at Siemens Healthineers fulfill our mission to pioneer breakthroughs in healthcare, for everyone, everywhere, sustainably.
