- Corindus CorPath® GRX Vascular Robotic System, marks a new milestone for minimally invasive cardiovascular treatment in Vietnam
- Mekong Delta patients with vascular disease now have access to robotic-assisted technology for use in vascular interventions that restore blood flow at SIS General Hospital
- Installation marks the first Corindus CorPath® GRX in ASEAN
SIS General Hospital announced the installation of CorPath® GRX Vascular Robotic System in one of their hospitals’ catheterization laboratories. CorPath GRX is the first and only FDA-cleared medical device to bring robotic-assisted precision to percutaneous coronary and vascular procedures while protecting medical professionals from radiation exposure occurring in hospital catheterization laboratories.
“The adoption of CorPath GRX System in our hospital will allow us to provide the latest technologies for our patients requiring vascular intervention,” said Dr. Tran Chi Cuong, Director of SIS. “The enhanced visualization of the X-ray images, combined with the robotic precision and automated movements, will transform the way we perform vascular procedures and should ultimately improve patient care. Sitting away from the X-ray source in a radiation-protected workstation, I’m able to use joysticks to advance the interventional devices, millimeter by millimeter through the vasculature.”
Vascular disease is a widespread and life-threatening condition that affects millions of people in the United States annually . The gold standard of care for vascular disease is a minimally invasive treatment in which interventional specialists use catheters, wires, balloons, and stents to physically open artery blockages and help improve blood flow.
“An aging baby boomer population is driving demand for new, innovative technologies to treat vascular disease,” added Dr. Tran Chi Cuong. “Robotic-assisted intervention offers patients a minimally invasive technology that improves the precision of interventional device placements and reduces radiation exposure during the procedure for physicians.”
“We are proud to join the growing number of hospitals across the globe implementing a CorPath Vascular Robotic Program,” said Subha Dip Mukherjee, Head of Advanced Therapies, Siemens Healthineers Southeast Asia. “The adoption of the CorPath GRX System at SIS General Hospital emphasizes our continuous commitment to delivering state-of-the-art technology to advance care for patients and the clinical community.”
