Bringing life-saving care to those in need
Many people lack access to healthcare screenings and treatments due to disparities in underserved urban and rural regions around the county. We have partnered with healthcare providers and local communities to provide uninsured people with breast, liver, and lung cancer screenings. This demonstrates our overall commitment to Healthcare Access.
Addressing the gap in STEM education
Through the Sisters in STEM program, our employees mentor middle school girls of color, teaching foundational skills like public speaking and self-advocacy, plus hands-on skills through STEM projects. Scholars in STEM expands our outreach to racially and ethnically diverse high school students, including Indigenous populations. Employees demonstrate our equipment and share insight about STEM careers.
Promoting Health Equity for All
Since 2018, the Siemens Foundation has invested over $15.5 million, including funding and in-kind donations from Siemens Healthineers. Funds go toward workforce training in medical fields and access to healthcare.
Some programs that the Foundation supports:
- The National Alliance for Hispanic Health provides health and human services to over 1 million people per year. Activities include ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving!®, a series promoting wellness and healthy lifestyles in Hispanic communities.
- Washington Association for Community Health expands healthcare access through the In-REACH training program. This program increases apprenticeships for medical and dental assistants, creating a more diverse workforce and economic opportunities.
- Choose Healthy Life is the leading national faith-based initiative addressing health disparities on Black Americans. They increase access to health screenings, vaccinations, and resources through health navigators.
Additionally, Siemens Healthineers supports scientific research and education through organizations including the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society.
