Performing a Whole Blood Test
Pre-analytical
Automated internal quality control is performed electronically, every time, the epoc reader connects with the epoc Host, during initiation of the epoc Reader immediately before the test process each time a test is run.
Card insertion
QC tests are performed by the epoc Reader on the card and on the operator process after the card insertion during initialization. An internal barcode scanner reads the Test Card barcode during insertion. Card insertion also initiates test calibration.
Sample insertion
Requires only 92 uls of arterial, venous, or capillary whole-blood sample. Automatic quality control, with continuous electronic checks, is performed with each test.
Data management
POC Informatics enables encrypted patient data to be transferred to the data management system in real time, allowing for management, traceability, and quality assurance.
