As an intern at Siemens Healthineers, you'll actively contribute and gain a wealth of insights into our business and the healthcare industry as a fully integrated member of our team. We offer full- and part-time opportunities to graduate and undergraduate students who are keen to apply theory to practice. A placement may ultimately lead to a full-time job with Siemens Healthineers.

Siemens Healthineers is at the forefront of the medical devices and biomedical technology industry. Our internship programs offer a distinctive project-based structure, providing you with opportunities to engage in projects within one of our various business units: Varian, Molecular Imaging, Diagnostics, Point-of-Care, Endovascular Robotics, and Customer Sales & Service.

Internship opportunities

Summer internships: 10 – 12 weeks, May – August  
Part-time internships: 20hrs/week, September – December or January – May

Engineering Co-op programs

At Healthineers co-op terms are for an academic semester or an academic semester plus summer. We onboard co-ops in January, May/June, and September. 

Our Engineering co-op program offers a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world experience. As a co-op student, you’ll immerse yourself in a professional setting, working full-time at Healthineers during you academic term, on challenging projects that are directly related to your field of study. This hands-on approach allows you to apply classroom knowledge to real-world problems, gaining practical experience in place of classes, that enhances your academic journey.

Leadership development & Rotational Programs

Full-time only, Full-time & Summer Internship, Summer Internship only

We are looking for students who are curious and resourceful — true problem solvers who challenge themselves to find the most effective and efficient solutions to complex challenges. Our leadership development and rotational programs provide a platform for those who want to have an impact on the future and contribute to the successes of the company, our customers, and the world while still exploring career paths.

Sales Academy

This experiential, hands-on 10 to 12-month training program will set you up for success in the Med-Tech industry. The program gives you exposure to enterprise sales, our product lines, and clinical sales environments. The Academy incorporates classroom and shadow opportunities to build strong business-to-business relationships and practice tactics and tools to be successful in the field. Successful completion of our program will provide you the opportunity to earn a sales-centric or sales-adjacent position in one of our regions at Siemens Healthineers or Varian.

Finance Leadership Development Program

The Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP) prepares business students to support a wide range of departments as financial leaders within our Corporate Finance organization. Over the course of 24 months, you will participate in three 8-month project-based rotations across various areas of corporate finance. You will gain exposure to corporate accounting, cost accounting, project controlling, financial analysis, performance controlling and reporting, and more!

R&D Leadership Development Program

The R&D Leadership Development Program for Laboratory Diagnostics (R&D LDP) is a two-year rotational program in either Engineering (Undergraduate) or Assay Development (PhD). The engineering track is tailored to prepare you for a career in engineering and product development. Through three 8-month rotational assignments with different engineering functions, we provide a holistic experience across engineering and help you in successfully transition to a specialized role within engineering after completing the program.

The assay development track consists of two 12-month rotational assignments within different R&D functions. You will gain experience in the lifecycle of in vitro diagnostic assay development from the concept phase through commercialization and product support.

Operations Leadership Development Program

Through the Operations Leadership Development Program (OLDP) you will learn the application of LEAN & Six Sigma tools and apply these skills to improve the business strategy for manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, and procurement.  OLDP is a two-year, 100% on-site program that consists of three, eight-month rotational assignments across some of Siemens Healthineers’ most dynamic business operations. Opportunities exist in both our Diagnostics and Point-of-Care business lines for students studying engineering functions or supply chain.

Varian Finance Development Program

The 2-year rotational program helps finance students expand their knowledge through four 6-month rotations across all areas of the corporate finance organization. As part of your role, you will work alongside your respective finance team and gain experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Financial Operations, Product Group Finance, Supply Chain Finance, Project Management functions, and more!

Varian Operations Development Program

The 10-12 week hands-on internship exposes you to our manufacturing operations at Varian. This internship experience allows you to explore operations management tools and apply these skills to enhance business strategies in manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, and more within our Varian business lines. Students studying engineering, manufacturing functions, operations management, or supply chain are competitive for this program.  This internship is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career and potentially secure a full-time role in Operations or join the OLDP.
