Ausiello, Chief of Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Chief Scientific Officer of Partners HealthCare, argues for the necessity to move medicine from episodic symptomatic care – a reactive approach to medicine – to pre-symptomatic continuous care. By doing so, healthcare professionals will be able to both understand and intervene much earlier, presumably to either prolong the onset of a particular illness or prevent it all together.
