Improve Diagnostic Accuracy with xSPECT Bone SPECT/CTAccurate localization and delineation of cervical vertebral screw loosening

A SPECT/CT exam performed with xSPECT Bone provided the diagnostic detail to correct the initial prognosis of a 60-year-old woman who presented with chronic dull neck pain. After cervical facet arthropathy was initially suspected, a bone SPECT/CT scan showed the pain was due to bone stress, caused by loosening of a fixation screw.

In this case study by Dr. Iain Duncan, MD, Garran Medical Imaging, Canberra, Australia, the xSPECT Bone SPECT/CT study was instrumental in identifying the issue at cause, allowing the correct treatment plan to be determined to potentially relieve the patient of pain for a better quality of life.
