The angle makes the difference in tomosynthesis of dense breasts – a radiologist’s view

Recent studies suggest that cancer detection rates for digital breast tomosynthesis are insufficient for patients with heterogeneously to extremely dense breasts. Paul Fisher, MD, from Stony Brook, New York and his team investigated if the angle of the systems used had any effect on detection rates and found wide-angle tomosynthesis to be very promising.
