Published on September 27, 2021

At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of Siemens Healthineers AG appointed Dr. Marion Helmes as Chairwoman of the Audit Committee. On September 28, 2021, she will take over the Chair from Dr. Andreas C. Hoffmann who has held this position since 2020. Marion Helmes has been an independent member of the Supervisory Board and its Audit Committee since the company’s IPO in 2018.

”Thanks to her activities as a member and chair of the audit committees of several global corporations, Marion Helmes has extensive expertise in accounting, auditing and internal control procedures, and is therefore ideally suited to the new task,” said Prof. Dr. Ralf P. Thomas, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Siemens Healthineers AG.

In addition to her mandate at Siemens Healthineers, Ms. Helmes is, among other things, Vice Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board and a Member of the Audit Committee of ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE. Marion Helmes was CFO of Celesio AG from 2012 to 2014, as well as Speaker of the Management Board from 2013 to 2014. Prior to that, she held, inter alia, various management positions at ThyssenKrupp, including CFO of ThyssenKrupp Elevator.

In addition to Marion Helmes and Andreas C. Hoffmann, the Audit Committee of Siemens Healthineers AG also includes Ralf P. Thomas, Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The change at the head of the Committee takes place against the background of the DAX membership of Siemens Healthineers AG, and the corresponding need for an independent Chair of the Audit Committee. The tasks of the Audit Committee include overseeing the accounting process, and the audit of the financial statements, in particular the selection, independence and qualification of the auditor, assessing the quality of the audit and the performance of the auditor.
