On July 1, 2018, Michel Therin (56) will take over as Head of the Advanced Therapies business segment at Siemens Healthineers. The current head Heinrich Kolem (62) will begin his retirement on August 1, 2018.
Since 2005, Michel Therin has held various senior positions for development and strategy at Medtronic's Minimally Invasive Therapies Group. In his last post as Global Vice President and General Manager, he was responsible for the company's global business in minimally invasive therapies in general surgery. Michel Therin gained his doctor's degree in Biomedical Engineering in France at the Paris XIII University.
"In Heinrich Kolem, a senior manager is retiring who has had a major influence on the business development of Siemens Healthineers for almost 30 years. Under his leadership, the magnetic resonance imaging business has become the global market leader. In the course of his many years of local management, he has given decisive impetus to our U.S. business and subsequently driven forward consistently the development of our growing Advanced Therapies business.
